This week in IT (or Today in IT)

This week in IT we are finishing up the new laptops for the Gifted and Talented Program, working on the exchange calendars for the web site, teacher blogs at OTES, Teacher MLTI Mac Books at OTHS and all the normal day to day issues that tend to pop up.

 

If any of you have dropped by our office since the move, you will have noticed that it is in quite a state.  Once things calm down to a dull roar we will be able to get it in order.

 

The 6^th grade now has 54 Mac Mini’s to work on.  These are replacing all but one of the Linux Terminal labs that they have been using for the past couple of years.  The move to the Macs will help with the transition to the MLTI program in 7^th and 8^th grades.

What has been going on

Here is just a brief update on what the IT staff have been up to over the past couple of weeks.

NWEA testing has been set up and is now underway.

The new Exchange mail is up and running and we are in process of getting everyone set up with their new addresses and getting the appropriate software installed. Everyone should have access to the web based portion of the new mail, if not please let us know.

We are also working on the long priority lists provided to us by each school.
