Minutes of District Technology PD and Curriculum Committee Meeting

Thursday, April 12, 2007

 

Participants:  Matt Cyr, Jason Adams, Amy Ketch, John Keane, Judy Pusey and David Walker

 

  1. Reviewing the Responsibilities of this Committee

This committee will focus on professional development to meet the Technology Standards in the OTSD first and then will work on curriculum development.

 

  1. Reviewing the Professional Development Activities for 2006-2007 and Planning for 2007-2008
    • Evaluations from the 2006-2007 workshops were very positive and provided information about additional workshops that need to be provided. (see attached list)
    • Amy Ketch will provide after school workshops for staff at OTHS this year on using the Web to School grade book.
    • David Walker will talk with Jef about the communication problems that OTHS, OTRP and LMS are having with their email.  Jef may also need to make explanations or provide training for staff on how they can  currently retrieve their email.
    • The committee recommended that the August 28th In-service Day be used to provide Technology training for staff.  OTRP staff may join schools at their teaching levels.
    • David Walker will provide a sample task that SAD #41 used to evaluate faculty proficiencies with Level I Technology Standards.  The committee will review it at our next meeting to match it with our standards and make revisions as needed.  The committee recommended that the task, the technology standards and technology workshops be presented to teachers at the beginning of next year so that they will have the year to build and/or demonstrate their proficiencies.
    • At our next meeting the committee will also beginning planning a technology academy that will be available to all faculty in Old Town on August 23rd.  Judy Pusey will also ask PREP for other teachers who can present workshops for staff at this academy and/or in after school technology workshops next year.
