Technology Committee Meeting Minutes

Thursday, March 8, 2007

Participants:  David Walker, Matthew Cyr, Tim Larson, Jef Hamlin, Debbie Gilman, and Judy Pusey

  1. Dividing District Technology Committee Into Two Committees
    1. Superintendent Walker explained the need to divide the District Technology committee into two separate committees to facilitate progress on the different goals that each committee will have.  The IT Committee, chaired by Jef Hamlin, will focus on hardware and technical issues and the Technology Curriculum/Professional Development, chaired by Judy Pusey, will focus on the development of the curriculum and professional development.  Members of the former “District Technology” committee should decide if they want to be members of both committees or on one of the two committees.  Each building does need to be represented on both of these committees.
    2. The Technology Curriculum and Professional Development Committee will meet at the original times that were set for the District Technology Committee.  ( April 12, May  10 and June 14th at 2:45 in the OTES Conference Room )
    3. The IT Committee will meet the first time on March 22nd at 7:00 a.m. in the OTES Conference Room.  Additional meetings will be scheduled at that first meeting.
    4. Minutes will be kept for the meetings of both of these committees. They will be sent to the members of both committees and posted on the website so that each committee is aware of needs being discussed and/or decisions that are being made. Occasionally, the two committees may need to meet together.
    5.  Please RSVP to Judy Pusey to identify who will represent your building on each of these new committees by March 16th.

  1. School Technology Committees

Each school needs to continue to have a School Technology Committee.  Monthly meetings of these committees should be scheduled and cancelled if there are no agenda items and the meeting isn’t needed.  Minutes of those meetings should be sent to Brenda Dahlbergh who will send them to the members of BOTH of the District Committees.  They may also be posted on the website.
