OTRP Tech Meeting

                                                                      May 14, 2007

                                                                       Minutes

Present: Annette Nelligan, Jay Adams, Barbara Gunn, Kim Lynch, Renee Perron and Debbie Gilman

1.        NWEA – Debbie has had a problem adding NWEA to the MLTI laptops but it appears everyone is getting the testing done on the machines that will run the program.

2.        Kurzweil – There was a snowstorm the day of training in Orrington so OTRP is planning to run another for those who missed the first one.  We should receive an application soon and when it is filled out and a PO sent we can confirm a date.  We hope to set up for the week of August 20th.   If Debbie can come up with enough equipment we’ll have the training here, if not we’ll see if OTES is available.

3.        Out look – Staff needs to start using Outlook more since Horde will be stopped this summer.  Debbie will email everyone to remind them they need to save or print any email they want or need that they have saved in Horde.  They need to continue to check Horde but should be using Outlook for all emails and calendars.  Before school starts in September everyone will have a new email address.

4.        Equipment – It was mentioned that the Dell laptops aren’t working very well.  A few new laptops are in the budget for next year and it was suggested that at least one should have a DVD burner.  The old ones could be cleaned and used at the high school level.

5.        Other – The Tech Academy was mentioned and staff will be encouraged to go but it will

be on a volunteer bases. Web2School and Exchange are two topics that will be presented.

Barbara asked if there was still going to be a Web2School workshop the last day and since

we are unsure she or Debbie will check into it.  If there is no training until the Tech

Academy we will see if we can have one here the last day of school.
