OTRP Tech Meeting
March 12, 2007
Minutes

Present: Annette Nelligan, Jay Adams, Barbara Gunn, Kim Lynch, Jef Hamlin and Debbie Gilman

  1. NWEA – Jay will check to see when the next test session begins
  1. Kurzweil – The material has arrived and needs to be sorted out.  Training has been set for April 5th and Jay, Barbara and Debbie will attend.

  1. Out look – Debbie mentioned that more of the staff needs to start using Outlook and all it has to offer.  She will send out a note about using the tutorial in Atomic Learning.  She and Jef will set up an after school review session.  Jef will go over address book, calendar, email, and newsgroups.

  1. Equipment – Debbie reported that she is nearly ready to move the servers down to the network room.

Jef said the new printer has been ordered and should be here soon.

There was a discussion about purchasing, in the future, laptops for the high school students. It was decided that PC’s would be the better choice.  Jay would also like to have the High School students set up with an email account (internal use only) once the laptops are purchased.  It was also discussed about having a Windows based server and work stations set up for the elementary level.  Jef will check on prices for these options and get back to Debbie.  Middle school level will continue to use the MLTI laptops.

  1. Other – Web2School:  Debbie has downloaded the Web2School Demo and will set it up for others if they are interested.  The discipline module may be very useful to us and she

will meet with Jim Civilleo, Renee Perron and Paul Pusey to see if it can be used to track
the data needed at this school.  The entire district will be using Web2School next year and
it will be set up and ready to use before the start of the new school year.

The district Technology Committee is going in a new direction.  There will be two
committees rather than just the one.  OTRP will be represented by Jay on the curriculum
committee, chaired by and Debbie, on the IT committee.  Barbara will attend
      both meetings when possible.

Jef explained that the network administrator password had been breached and has been
      changed.

6.   Next Meeting – April 9th.
