Old Town Elementary Parent Teacher Committee (PTC)

October 10, 2007 meeting minutes.

How often do committees ask their members what THEY want? How many of you think that parent/teacher committees are ALL about fund-raising? The Old Town Elementary School Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) kicked off the 2007-2008 school year on the evening of Wednesday, September 27 by asking for opinions and dispelling myths.
The 20 parents, grandparents, teachers and school administrators in attendance had a chance to get to know one another and contribute their ideas about making this a fulfilling and productive year. Child care, parent teacher “work” nights, short, efficient and productive meetings, grade or event specific fund-raising and meetings that include fun and educational events were among the many ideas shared.
Despite the record breaking heat people left energized by the ideas shared, excited about the future and imagining what the PTC could accomplish by inspiring a large group dedicated to the success of a beautiful well run school with great kids who deserve the best. It is never too late to get involved. Each meeting will include an opportunity to get to know continuing members and welcome new members. The next meeting will take place Wednesday, October 10 in the OTES cafeteria, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. For more information contact the PTC Chair, amy.peabody@mail.otsd.org.

Old Town Elementary Parent-Teacher Committee
The support, talents and interests of our community are a valued resource at Old Town Elementary School. Our Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) works diligently to provide enriched school learning opportunities for all of our students. In addition to fund raising for school events and programs, the PTC volunteers countless hours to special events such as our annual book fair, movie nights and Gotcha Parties (just to name a few).
This year’s first PTC meeting is Wednesday, September 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. During this initial meeting, we will spend a little time socializing with coffee and dessert. We will break into groups and think of ideas to help improve PTC participation. We value all opinions and look forward to seeing any (and all) family members of OTES students. Meeting minutes are posted on the OTES website: http://www.otsd.org.
In addition to posting meeting minutes minutes, the OTES PTC webpage will have a web-link to an anonymous survey where parents can openly suggest ideas on how we can better collaborate to enhance learning experiences at OTES. As always, thank you for your time and support…….Work Hard and Be Kind!!
Please click here to suggest any ideas that can help the PTC...thanks!
