Gotcha Program

The Gotcha Program is participated in by all of the students at OTES.  Students are recognized for “Working Hard and Being Kind”.  In addition to this successful program, the advisers spend time every Wednesday morning with a group of students, the OTES Gotcha Leaders.  Gotcha Leaders operate solely on a volunteer basis, and focus their efforts on Community Building , Working Hard and Being Kind at Old Town Elementary.  Three times a year, the Gotcha Leaders help plan a “Gotcha Party”, which are events that celebrate the students who have been nominated for “Working Hard and Being Kind”.  5th grade students have the opportunity to continue similar school involvement at Leonard Middle School by becoming involved with the LICA program.   Gotcha Program Advisers: Matt Cyr and Vicki Wilcox : matthew.cyr@mail.otsd.org and vicki.wilcox@mail.otsd.org; Phone: (207) 827-1544 ext. 304 and 127

K-Kids

K-Kids is the elementary school affiliate of the Old Town-Orono Kiwanis Club.  The K-Kids meet weekly to talk about issues of leadership in school and the community.   In the past, K-Kids have participated in global projects such as Trick or Treat for UNICEF and The Heifer Project.   Locally, they have picked up trash at the elementary school playground, helped with various projects throughout the school and made holiday decorations for the Meadows (a senior citizen housing facility).   K-Kids Adviser: Mary Bagley ; mary.bagley@mail.otsd.org; Phone: (207) 827-1544 ext. 207
