Borrowing

Students may borrow books for 1 week

Renewals are allowed if the student brings the book in
Renewals are not allowed if another student has put the book on "Reserve"
Students are expected to keep books in a SAFE PLACE to avoid damage and loss.
Plastic bags are provided.

Learn basic library orientation and use  
Author Studies: Have completed units on Denise Flemming, Lois Ehlert, and Rosemary Wells
   
First Grade:  
Distinguish between FICTION and NON-FICTION books
   
Second Grade:  
Hear stories and do beginning research on each continent they visit
   
Third Grade:  
Identify Call Numbers to begin using our Spectrum Catalog to locate desired books
   
Fourth Grade:  
Identify Maine locations, events, people, products, and wildlife in fiction books and researching these
   
Fifth Grade:  
Use picture books to learn about U.S. History, and folklore to learn about Native Americans

Read to students and help them find desired books

Assist in processing new books
